Repton House is within an easy walking distance of Swaffham, an historic market town in the Breckland area of Norfolk. Swaffham offers a variety of shops, the Town Museum, a beautiful medieval church and several restaurants. There is a market in the Square every Saturday. The town is featured as Market Shipborough in the TV series "Kingdom" with Stephen Fry.
Tourist attractions include:- The lovely unspoilt North Norfolk coast with Blakeney Point (to watch the seals), Holkham Beach (voted best beach 2009 by Coast Magazine), Sandringham House and Estate are within 30/40 minutes drive. NT Oxburgh Hall is nearby with many events held during the summer.
Pensthorpe Nature Reserve is a lovely place to visit. The reserve near Fakenham, is about a 20 minute drive away.
Narborough Hall Gardens are open Wednesdays and Sundays until the end of September. Also well worth a visit are the tranquil Gooderstone Water gardens, open all year.
There are many walks locally, including the National Trail - the Peddars Way, and the pretty village of Castle Acre with its Castle ruins, Priory and Church is well worth a visit.
Norwich is a pleasant city with much to offer: Cathedral, Castle, theatres, shopping etc. and is 45 minutes drive. Cambridge, has wonderful colleges to explore and great shopping, it is an hours drive, with easy park and ride facilities.
